Due to a life change, I was in need of a rental home, on Grosse Ile. I walked into Slats office, at the time, and met Amy. I explained to her my need, and the situation I found myself in at that time. Amy was overwhelmingly sympathetic and understanding to my situation. She informed me that they had no rentals available, at the moment. So I got back in my car, and was driving around the island, trying to decide what to do. It wasn’t even 30 minutes later, and I got a call from Amy. She had discussed it with her family, who are all part of Slats, and was offering the office that I had just walked into, which by the way was a house, as a rental to me. I can’t express the gratitude I felt at that moment. They moved out of that house, into another building for their office, and made it a home for me. That was 13 years ago! 😀 They have always been such wonderful landlords. During these 13 years living here, I have had many life challenges, for which they have always been sympathetic, caring and understanding. They have responded quickly and efficiently, every time I have called for anything from a simple, to a major repair on the house. And I can’t say enough good things about their maintenance employees, Jim and Derek. Two great and hard-working guys.
